Evaluations

Immigration Evaluations

Immigration evaluations are comprehensive psychological assessments of a person's mental health profile for the purpose of immigration proceedings.  I offer evaluation services for those seeking consideration for U Visas, T Visas, VAWA, Asylum, Extreme Hardship, or Medical Certification for Disability Exceptions (N-648).

Process

After a brief phone consultation to determine your needs and to discuss any questions or concerns that you might have, you will be invited to complete a set of initial paperwork. Once complete, an evaluation interview session will be scheduled. Sessions are typically 3-4 hours and conducted in one sitting. However, depending on the type of evaluation, an additional session may be scheduled to ensure all relevant information about your circumstances is obtained and all assessments are completed.  All sessions are conducted via a secure video platform.

Evaluations typically consist of an in-depth review of personal history, current mental status examination, and assessment of psychological distress. In addition to the evaluation interview, I will review and incorporate in the report as necessary any documents provided by you or your attorney to support your application. For some cases, information provided by family members via interview can further strengthen the report.

Fees

The cost of evaluations can vary depending on the complexity of the application. Typically, costs can range from $1,500-$2,000. Please contact me for an exact quote based on your specific needs.

Payments can be made in full or in segments via a secure online card processing system. Most major credit cards are accepted. A $250 deposit fee will be charged at the time of scheduling the evaluation appointment.

Timeline

In general, final reports are produced within two weeks of the evaluation. Turnaround times can also be affected by the need for additional interviews with you or other family members.  Urgent evaluations can be accommodated based on availability and for an additional fee of $350.

Languages

I provide evaluations in English and Haitian Creole. Interpretation services for additional languages (French and Spanish) can be provided at an additional cost. Family members or friends are welcome to assist with translation as needed during the consultation call. However, for clinical and testing purposes, it is not appropriate to have a family member or friend interpret during the actual evaluation. Please inquire during the consultation call about interpreter fees, if needed.
